24 ÷ 4 (8 ÷ 4) =?

At first glance, it might seem complicated, but all you need is an excellent knowledge of your order of operations.

All you need is the knowledge of PEMDAS, that is, the right order of operations: Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and then Subtraction.

To arrive at the right answer, one has to solve the bracket first, that is, divide 8 by 4 to get 2, and then divide 24 by 4 to get 6. Finally, you then multiply 6 by 2 to give 12.
