I love decorating for Christmas but it get pricey if I’m not careful. That’s why I’m always trying to discover new ways to decorate for next to nothing! Lately I’ve been making mason jar crafts like this snowman mason jar. Since I still had plenty of jars left, I decided to make a Christmas mason jar too. Not only is it super easy, but it’s budget friendly too.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Mason jar
- Green chalk paint
- Gold metallic paint
- Gold spray paint
- Stencil (mine is old and I couldn’t find it online but these would be pretty too, especially the holly leaves)
- Christmas ribbon
- Berry stem (these red ones would look pretty too…mine were blue so I spray painted them gold)
- Small Christmas tree branches (I found mine free when we bought our tree…they were scattered around where they cut the trunks and I was told to take as much as I wanted)
- Glue gun (I swear by this cordless glue gun) and glue sticks
- Paintbrushes
Christmas Mason Jar
Start with a mason jar (I find single jars for 50¢ at Goodwill), green chalk paint and Christmas ribbon. Paint the jar green and let it dry. You may need a couple coats.
Next, cut a piece of ribbon to fit around the jar and hot glue at the back.
Next, get your gold metallic paint, a paintbrush and a stencil.
Use a stencil to paint a pattern above and below the ribbon.
Spray paint your berries gold. You can also use red berries if you’d like to skip this step. I just happened to have these berries and spray paint on hand already.
Once the spray paint dries, fill your Christmas mason jar with the gold berries and Christmas tree sprigs.
This is such an easy way to decorate for Christmas and would look beautiful on a mantle (though I live in Florida where most of us don’t have fireplaces). It would also look great as part of a holiday centerpiece.
How would you decorate with Christmas mason jar?
