Keeping Resolutions With Healthy Banana Bread

Sometimes resolutions can be hard to stick to but when you don’t have to give up too much, it’s a whole lot easier! One example is this deliciously healthy banana bread. One bite of this and you’ll never go back to regular banana bread again!
We’ve made it past January so raise your hand if you’ve stuck to your resolutions. I have and haven’t. My resolution to have more “me” time and plan a girl’s night out has gone by the wayside. However, I’ve been doing pretty well with my other resolutions, which are to exercise more and be more careful about what I eat.
I haven’t gone too extreme so that definitely helps. I’ve had a doughnut here and there and may have been caught stealing one of my daughter’s french fries (or two…or five). I find that instead of giving things up completely, it’s a lot easier to just substitute them with more healthy versions.
Resolutions At Walmart
That’s why I’ve been shopping Walmart to find all the best substitutes. They have everything I need and more!
A few of my favorite substitutes have been Splenda Naturals, Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold and Optimum Nutrition products. Each one has helped me with my resolutions in a different way.
Splenda Naturals
At the top of my list of favorites are Splenda Naturals! I’ve been using them in everything lately, from healthy banana bread to iced tea.
I use Splenda Naturals packets in all my drinks but that’s not all it’s good for. By substituting sugar with Splenda Naturals and applesauce for butter, I can totally treat myself without the guilt. I really like that Splenda Naturals are a 100% natural Stevia product. It contains nothing artificial and best of all, contains zero calories.
What really matters is the taste though and Splenda Naturals taste great and have no aftertaste. I like Splenda Naturals so much, I rarely even use sugar anymore.
Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold
I’ve changed the type of beer that I drink too. While I do like my wine, there are certain occasions when a refreshing beer is so much better. It’s my go to drink for watching football or grilling out (or both).
Michelob just came out with Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold and I couldn’t wait to give it a try. This light lager has no artificial flavors or colors has just 2.5 carbs and 85 calories. Since I’ve been trying to watch both my carbs and calories, this is perfect. Pure gold is also made with organic grains and triple filtered, which is probably why it tastes so good!
Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy & Gold Standard Whey
Another great substitute is to drink more Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy and a little less coffee. Amino Energy is great for when you need a mid-day pick me up. It uses caffeine from natural sources and each serving has just 5 calories and no sugar. Plus, it’s super easy to make. The powders come in fruit flavors that you can just mix into cold water and enjoy.
If you’re looking to add more protein to your diet, you might also want to try Gold Standard Whey. Carbs and fat are isolated out or removed and the main source of protein is from the whey protein isolate. It’s gluten free and has just 120 calories, with 1.5g or less of fat and 2g or less of sugar. Like the Amino Energy, you just mix it with cold water or other beverages and you’re good to go.
When you want a protein snack on the go, try Optimum Nutritions Protein Crisp bars. They have 20 grams of protein and fit perfectly into a purse or gym bag.
Win A Gym Membership
You can find all of these products at Walmart and now they’ve come up with another way to help you keep those resolutions. Enter the Resolutions At Walmart Sweepstakes through February 9th and Walmart will reward five lucky winners with a complete gym membership worth up to $599! Pretty cool, right? Now, remember that healthy banana bread recipe I told you about? It’s so good that you’ll never want to go back to your regular banana bread recipe again! Not only is it delish but it’s super easy too…the perfect combination, right?
Start by mashing your bananas.
Next, mix together eggs, buttermilk and applesauce with the bananas.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Next, add Splenda Naturals Stevia Sweetener.
Combine the flour mixture and banana mixture and stir well.
Add chopped pecans.
